Daniel Campbell

Daniel joined the Royal Engineers at the age of 16, serving in Iraq (Op Telic 11 2007/08) and then Afghanistan (Op Herrick 15 2011/12) where he mentored the Afghan Army, training and assisting them in the disposal of IEDs. Following 10 years of service, he was medically discharged in 2014 due to hearing damage and PTSD. Although Daniel would watch his father paint as a child, it was not until attending a 6-week intensive treatment programme at Combat Stress that he discovered his interest in art. “I used art as part of my recovery as it helped me too articulate feelings and memories often too complex and painful to put into words.”
