Steve Mills

Steve joined the Army at the age of 16, straight out of school in 1981.  Having begun his career with the Lifeguards, Household Cavalry Regiment, he went on to serve with the TA, Royal Signals from 1987 until 1994. In 2009, Steve was diagnosed with PTSD by Combat Stress and in the same year suffered two strokes, causing left-sided weakness. He started taking photographs a few years later whilst attending a class at Audley Court. Once bitten by the photography bug he quickly gained a City & Guilds qualification in photography and recently completed a second. “Photography gives me a reason to get up in the morning. I always enjoy going out with my camera and taking shots of anything and everything. I suffer from PTSD and have experienced massive issues around going out of the house on my own”
